This Newsletter is intended only for those constituents who
are eligible for and use the TRICARE health insurance program for military
retirees. Other alumni need not read further. Normally I limit these newsletters
to USNA or Alumni House issues, but this particular retiree health care
issue might be relevant to those of you who are under the TRICARE program.
The Military Officers Association of America, MOAA (formerly TROA, The
Retired Officers Association) needs your help to get a Handle on TRICARE
Access Problems: If there's a serious shortage of TRICARE Standard providers
in your area, MOAA needs to hear from you via its online survey:
http://www.moaa.org/Legislative/TRICARESurvey2003/
Through this survey you will let MOAA know you have experienced in finding
doctors who will accept new TRICARE Standard patients. Please remember
that the focus of the survey is on how hard it is to find a TRICARE provider
in your area, not on problems with specific providers or claims issues.
And it's important to address only recent conditions (experiences occurring
within the last 12 months). MOAA can't base current initiatives on data
from several years ago.
Do not send your responses to Len Wass. Use the MOAA hyperlink or web
site above to complete the questionnaire.
