Subj: Upcoming BOT Spring Meeting; Request for Input Refer to: Central Region Letter 08-05; March 28,
2005 **** The Spring meeting of the Alumni Association Board of Trustees will be held on May 6, 2005. It will be preceded by a day of BOT Standing Committee meetings. The tentative agenda for the meeting lists Chairman’s remarks, an Admissions Dept. presentation, President’s report, Election of USNAAA officers, and reports by the various BOT Standing Committees, Class Presidents’, and Chapter Presidents. Two votes are scheduled: Budget approval and a procedural vote authorizing transacting business.
The Los Angeles Chapter Trustee and I have jointly submitted two additional agenda items for consideration by the Chair: 1.) A BOT Strategy update for the Association (the last one was completed in 2001); and, 2.) A BOT review of the Alumni Association’s expanded mission of supporting “Alumni” (the mission was expanded in May 2002 but there has been no formal BOT review of whether the Alumni Association is doing all it can do to support our Alumni). We are hopeful that the Chair, ADM Trost, will add these items for formal BOT discussion.
I invite your inputs and comments, not just on the two proposed agenda items, but also on any item regarding the Alumni Association. I usually get quite a few inputs, and would ask that you put your items in an email to me. Please try to get such comments to me within the next week or two.
