Subj: Board of Trustees Spring 2003 Election The March issue of Shipmate will soon be in your mailboxes. It will contain the ballot for the Spring election. This year, we will elect a new Chair and Regional Trustees in the Mid-Atlantic and Western Regions. Alumni can only vote for the Trustee for the Region where they live. Hence, Central Region alumni can only vote for the new Chair. Although there only will be one name on the ballot for Chair, write-ins are allowed. However, the candidate proposed by the Nominating Committee is a particularly strong candidate, well known and respected by all. He is former CNO Admiral Carl Trost '53. I served on the Nominating Committee and I most strongly recommend that you vote for him. His bio is on the Alumni Association web site http://www.usna.com/ and will also be in the March Shipmate. Even though there is only one candidate for those of us in the Central Region to vote on, it is very important that each one of us vote!! To have a strong Alumni Association, every member must VOTE!! As soon as you get your Shipmate, find the ballot, mark it, and mail it in!! |
