I received this report from the Alumni Association and thought you might be interested in seeing these outside rankings of our Alma Mater by several different organizations on a number of attributes.  It should make us all proud.  Here is the report.  Click on the hyperlinks for more detailed information.

The U.S. Naval Academy was ranked among the top colleges in the country in several reports released in late August. US News & World Report, Newsweek, and The Princeton Review ranked the Naval Academy in the following areas:

1.  US News & World Report - #4 Best Undergraduate Engineering program, #3 Best Aerospace Engineering Program; #12 Best Civil Engineering Program; #6 Best Mechanical Engineering Program, #6 Best Electrical Engineering Program. Each of these rankings was based upon the judgments of deans and senior faculty familiar with the specific programs.  For more information, click on this website:  http://www.usnews.com/usnews/edu/college/rankings/rankindex_brief.php

2.  Newsweek - "Hottest
Military School."  A survey of students, admissions officers and college admissions experts resulted in the U.S. Naval Academy being named the "hottest" military college in the country.  For more information, click on this website:  http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/5626574/site/newsweek/

3.  Princeton Review - The Naval Academy placed in the top 20 in 13 of 64 categories including #3 "Stone-cold Sober"; #3 "Don't Inhale"  (use of drugs); #11 "Accessible Professors"; #12 "Town-Gown Relations".  Princeton Review derived these rankings based upon surveys of college students at colleges and universities across the country.   For more information, click on this website:  http://www.princetonreview.com/college/research/profiles/rankings.asp?listing=1022813&LTID=1
