I invite any comments or input from Central Region alumni prior to the meeting. Please use my permanent USNA email address len.wass@1964.usna.com to respond with any input you might have.
The preliminary agenda for the Thursday BOT meeting is: Chair’s remarks; President/CEO’s semi-annual report and remarks; Executive Committee report; Joint Finance Committee report; Nominating Committee report and slate approval; Governance Committee report; House Committee report; Communications Committee report; Admissions Committee report; membership Committee report; Other Chapter Trustee Selection Committee report; and Superintendent’s remarks.
The Nominating Committee’s slate has just been announced. If this slate is approved by the BOT, the official balloting will be conducted early next year. The slate is as follows: Candidate
for Vice Chairman:
If you have any comments on the recent reduction of space allotted to the “Class News” section of Shipmate please let me know. Up until the last two issues, 4000 words per class were allowed. The current limitation cut that in half to 2000 words including pictures.
I’m also aware that the media has just reported a new Castro Chapter application to the Alumni Association from the San Francisco Bay area. You may have read or heard about it. This new application has just recently been received by the Alumni Association. The Bylaw and Operating Manual procedure for new Chapter applications are for the staff to first conduct its review, then to brief the BOT fully once it is ready to make a recommendation to the BOT. Since this is so new, I have no details to report to you at this time.
