Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the President has nominated Navy Rear Adm. Rodney P. Rempt (USNA '66) for appointment to the rank of Vice Admiral, with assignment as Superintendent, U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md. RADM Rempt is currently serving as president, Naval War College, Newport, R.I.

RADM Rempt's nomination requires Senate confirmation.
